Hamilton exclusive Swiss Made movements: H31 and H21

The Hamilton history, with its long list of firsts, represents a rich pool of inspirational elements for modern watch design and new techonologies. Its 2011 collection takes proud nostalgic moments and translates them into contemporary horological treasures. In particular Hamilton looks back to the early 1900s when the brand was known for its reliable and robust movements, equipping its new chronographs with the exclusive Swiss made H31 and H21 movements, both with a power reserve of 60 hours.

The Hamilton H31 and H21 are based on the chronograph Valjoux movements 7753 and 7750. Three elements have been modified.

The product launch also marked the beginning of Hamilton’s official partnership with Air Zermatt, Switzerland’s prestigious and highly skilled helicopter rescue and transport service.

High above the Swiss Alps aboard a cable car, a dozen journalists from around the world were surprised with a simulated rescue mission when Hamilton executives advised them that their cable car had ‘stalled’ at 3200m in the air. Participants then ‘evacuated’ the cable car through the roof and were transported safely by helicopter to the ground below, experiencing first-hand the skill and expertise of the Air Zermatt team.
